UFO ROBOT GRENDIZER (Goldorak in France) is the most reknown anime and whose success had no précédent in the audiovisual world. Born from Go Nagai's imagination and talent, and wonderfully adapted and produced by TOEI Animation, the result is uncontestably a huge work. Undoubtedly, this series is also at the origin of my passion and I owe it A LOT today. When I had the opportunity to work on this series' illustrations for the DVD boxes, this was an unutterbale joy for me, along with a deep honor... When I made this work (two months before its release), it was obvious that none of us would expect the fuss awaiting this DVD release. The only thing I personally had in mind during its preparation was to mettre tout en oeuvre for the covers to be the as beautiful as possible, in the total respect total with the original style, and while modernizing the colorisation as well as the layout to create scenes related to the episodes of each DVD. Of course some images are known (it seemed incontrovertible to reawake the nostalgic fiber of the public) and others are more original. All in one, my only goal was to give my best shot to pay a tribute to this magnificent series along with its creators, and making a big event out of this DVD edition. I regret so much, in the name of everybody, that this goal has been sadly so badly reached...
