THUNDERCATS was a series that many longed for due to its strong impact on the kids of the eighties during its run. The characters, wielding magic powers, in a medieval-fantastic world greatly appealed to the role-playing game public feeding on "Dungeons & Dragons" and avaient marqué les esprits in a timeline dominated by space opera and giant robots. But when I received the first episodes that I would use as basis for my work, I realized that, notwithstanding some very strong points, this series hadn't aged well and that it could surprise those who kept imperishable memories from it. It was necessary to give a little relifting to all this. While trying to stick to the original style, I also tempted to bring a bit of dynamism to the drawings and more importantly to color them with a lot of effects to make the final result younger and more modern ! I think that the goal has been reached. The more I proceeded in the making of boxes and cards, the more I mastered this "new style" between the old and the new one, filling the gap between the original cartoon and the comics published in the USA since 2002.
